Art Imitates Life

I used to tease MM (which, please note, is replacing DH on this blog - 'My Man' is much more me than 'dear husband') -

Anyway, I teased him about being blue for the whole day after a bad round of golf.
Well, now I get it.

I was depressed the whole day on Monday after producing the worst painting ever at my art lesson.
Seriously.
The more lessons I go to, the worse I get.

Reminds me of the first time I tried my hand at golf:
I couldn't do much wrong that day.
But it was all downhill from there.
I no longer play -
I have a little self respect. . .

So, today I went to a little writer's group.

My dear French friend Brigitte invited me to join them -
Her confidence in me is touching.

We met at a health coffee bar (I know - it sounds like a contradiction in terms) called 'Organics' near Plumstead

They throw you inat the deep end in this group.
A topic is selected, a timer set (max 7 mins) and you scribble madly for that time
And (if you want to) then you read the result out.

This is Christina, reading her story about an unborn baby. (And she is Spanish! What she can do with English is mind boggling.)

To give you a glimpse of the stretch involved, here is a sample of a topic today: "Every Petal is a Secret Spiral Moving Gently Beyond Sense."

You wanna try your hand at writing for 7 minutes on that?
I loved it, by the way.
