Ok, I know I said I'd tell you the story about the lost cell phone (mobile), but first - the headlines about the Plett trip (Plett being Plettenberg Bay - a great holiday resort).
I have this ugly desire to make people envy me today.
:-)
He was a gentle, kind man, a bit like a displaced lord of the manor, complete with a 'too-too' British accent and lisp: very knowledgeable and hospitable.
And Gill's remarkable 80 something year old Mom behind her.
I stayed with them all for the week doing cool stuff while DH worked his butt off ( sometimes it is ULTRA great to be the girl, don't you think!?)
When DH rejoined us (finally) we enticed him to the Lookout restaurant in Plett - right ON the sea - to recover from his traumatic day before.
Presh and Ainge, if you ever read this, you are the best!
Thanks a million for everything.
Now for the cell phone story:
DH was so mad when discovered that his phone had been stolen, that he went on, in his words "like a fishwife" at the people in the garage where his car was standing.
He phoned me at that point to report what was happening (borrowed phone).
SOS prayers at our end -
(for those who want to know more about the spiritual side of this tale, I will be posting that on http://www.sonsearcher.blogspot.com/, if not today, then soon.)
Two policemen appeared out of nowhere on the scene and DH told them to search everyone at the garage.
They said they couldn't do that, blah blah...
Anyway DH takes off, mad as a snake, only to notice down the road, an irritating rattle in the back of the car.
He thinks the back door is open, stops to investigate and finds, yup - you guessed it - the missing phone.
Now, before you think he just mislaid it, let me say this: he had earlier rung his cell number in the car no fewer than THREE times to try to locate it.
N-u-t-h-i-n-g
N-a-d-a
Z-e-r-o
So, we are guessing that the guilty party panicked at the fuss/the cops/the possible search/ whatever - and threw the phone into the car.
So, a happy ending.
We are home, the car has two new (very expensive!) tyres and the wandering cell fone has come home to roost.
And for those who have ears to hear, God stepped up and did a very kind thing for His kids.
Yay for Him!
This was so spectacular that I couldn't resist - and no ordinary flower - check below where we found it.
And no, there is no reason for posting this - it just begged to be shared. . . .
