BYE BYE, POTATO LADY?

Today is the day the stand-in president (supposedly Kgalema Motlanthe) will be sworn in - "supposedly" because the opposition Democratic Alliance have now mooted their own candidate. Just because they can. Now - given that the ANC has more than a two thirds majority, Motlanthe should still be a no-brainer - But here's the rub: Because of the infighting among the ANC, there is a (remote) possibility that some of them will vote for the opposition's man in the secret ballot. Just because they can. But let's face it - that's not gunna happen. Anyhoo. Here's the great bit: I heard today on morning radio: A faint rumour that Mad Manto is going to be slung out as Minister of Health in favour of Ms Rutledge. Ms R stepped up when Manto was having her liver replaced (long and bad story!) And was fired for her trouble. "Why?" you ask - Good question. Because Ms R was making her look bad by actually DOING something about the Aids crisis. "Sis - How COULD she! Let's fire her . . . And go back to selling African potatoes to the nation." I'm not sure that Ms R is a super hero - but hey! ANYONE else is a step in the right direction, hmmm?
