Echoes of Greenness

The Echo (pictured below) is our local newspaper -
free to the residents
of what we are pleased to call the "Deep South" -
although the politically correct get awfully steamed up about that
so it is also often referred to as the "Far South".
***
In it
is much of vital interest to the immediate community:
like crime stats;
hatch, match and despatch notices;
who has been where with whom
and what they wore;
and letters to the Ed
about kids on their dangerous skateboards and
who didn't pick up their dog's poo on the beach
and such.
***
Every now and then there is something to get excited about.
This excited me:
I know the print is too small for you to read
but the gist is that we are about to get back on track with recycling!
(Yes Jo, I do care!)
;-)

We did have a system a while ago that was
really styling
Then the wheels came off and our stuff just wasn't collected.
We're about to get started again.
Yay!

Now
If I can just get my earthworm compost thingy going
I'll be able to walk around with
a warm glow of self righteous self satisfaction.

Wonderful how the "wheels come off" just as things get going. Here in PE they don't even talk green yet...maybe we will catch up someday...

I know just how excited you are. In Somerset West they started the recyling thing and it lasted a few months (I was very dissapointed) and then another company came on aboard and it started again towards the end of last year. And so far its been going well.

Here's to hoping that your earthworms come to the party and make it work! Lis.
