Life is mysterious, fascinating, intriguing. Here my words nibble around the edges of it as the mood takes me.

Three By Eight
Thank goodness for tags!
When blog-bankruptcy has set in, its a lifesaver.
So thanks Shayne and here goes:
8 Things that I am looking forward to:
1. Getting organised.
I have been looking forward to that all my adult life (which is pretty long, bear in mind) - so far, no joy!
2. Not cooking tonight. People coming to look at the house tonight at 6.
So DH says we can go to Ocean Basket cos he feels like sushi.
Which brings me to:
3. Having prawns for supper - that someone else prepared and someone else will clean up afterwards.
4. Knowing where we are going to live. We have felt for a while that we might move closer to Cape Town. (At the moment we live about 40 minutes from the city centre.) That's why our house is on the market.
Kinda unsettling while the process is working out though.
5. Getting my hair cut again. I know that might come as a surprise to those of you who have been reading this blog for a bit.
But here's the thing: last time round, it was cut a lot shorter on the one side than the other. It needs sorting out! Urgently!
6. The arrival of my sixth grandchild in June. Her name is Kate and I can't wait. (Unintentional poetry)
7. This long weekend in Robertson at the Olive Garden Cottages.
A wonderful getaway in the midst of olive groves and food to faint for.
8. More life!
Bring it on. . .
8 Things I Did Yesterday:
Flip - let me get my diary . . .
Mmm, oh ja, it was a holiday hey? - so DH was home.
Thats simplifies things.
I'm really going to have to scrape here - it was one of those arbing days, flicking thru the channels in a semi-daze.
You don't have days like that, I know, but I do.
Ok -
1. Watched cricket (IPL) a LOT
2. Watched the news a LOT
3. Wanted to chew my own elbow with frustration because I watched a lot.
4. Made a dinner of note. Thats not my thing - I think it indicates how desperate I was for something else to do except. . . .
5. Missed seeing DD1 and her family off for their overseas trip. They were supposed to leave at 9pm for an 11pm flight but, unbeknown to us, decided to go early and have dinner at the airport.
Was spared feeling too horrendous as they came around for a little wine on the deck the evening before.
6. Got frustrated with Facebook. Again.
Wondered why I ever started it. Again.
7. Became overwhelmed with sorrow. Our young Malawian gardiner's wife suddenly died, leaving him with a 9 year old daughter. The daughter now has to go back to Malawi to stay with her grandmother and her father is left with the sadness of losing them both. It is stunningly painful - he doesn't have much English so it is difficult even to comfort him.
8. Enjoyed an hour and a half of solitude and silence. Balm for the soul.
8 Things I Wish I Could Do:
1. Aha - time for flights of fancy - I like that.
So, I wish I could:-
1. Sing -
So beautifully people would be misty eyed.
2. Fly
Tell me you don't wish for that too!
3. Write a best seller that would change lives.
4. Paint wonderful pictures.
5. Run without getting tired.
I would see exercise so differently if I could have endless easy breath.
6. Fulfill all my good intentions.
I have such great thoughts and plans - what happens to them?!
7. Cook cordon bleu food - and anyone who asks the question that begs to be asked (ie "Why don't you learn?") is in dangerous territory.
8. What list like this would be complete without:
"I wish I could bring in world peace"
Well, beauty queens get away with it, I thought I would try.
8 Shows I Watch
Ug - from the sublime to the non.
1. Cricket
2. News (courtesy of DH who seems to think that the world's news changes dramatically every 5 mins)
3. US Idols. Am looking forward to seeing how it will change without treacly Paula, and her endless asides with Simon.
And what is it with Randy?! "YO, man, you're the BOMB!"
"I dunno man, it's like I mean, you didn't DO it for me, man"
He's obviously a nice, knowledgable man, but arrested language development, maybe??
I like the new girl, Mara, Tara whatever
And I LURV Simon.
Now - where was i?
4. Top Gear.
If you haven't tried it yet, do yourselves a favour.
One of the funniest, wittiest, most entertaining shows on TV.
5. I like Greys when I remember to watch it
6. I spend most of my TV watching time (left to myself), cruising the movie channels. I love stories - and they end right there. You don't have to wait for 15 years to find out what happened.
7. Still mourning the end of McClouds Daughters. Loved that show - as also Brothers and Sisters
8. Oh! and I am a faithful and devoted follower of Egoli.
So there!
I'm done.
If you'd like to join the fun, please regard this as an open invite.

i was tagged too, so i have to come up with something soon!
i love those lists. i learned a lot about you...
I love your comment about Randy. You have it down perfectly, I can relate - to Randy that is I also suffer with the same condition - arrested vocab you say, now you know why my comments are normally brief.
I do love these meme's (*chuckles*) - great way to have insight into your life - not sure I'd want to leave you gorgeous view for the city though... and still intrigued by the Egoli thing...
hehe
Jo really!
You and Randy?!!
Nah -
Different ballparks altogether girl.
Succinct would describe you better, I think.
Headline lady.
Rambler man, there is more to the story of possibly moving closer to Town than I have gone into, be assured.
Otherwise we would be nuts!
And Egoli - sigh - I dunno: maybe its just there sheer South Africanness of it: its not a "soapy; everybody bonks everybody" siff thing like the US's stuff.
Just every day life
This is why I tag you - I LOVE the insights into your life and head and your classic way of writing!
Thanks for playing along!
Hear you about being closer to the city - i could do with that to. Sadly no chance of us selling the house tho ....
I loved learning more about you...you even make a tag sound like fun.
This was fun to read....although I notice you still struggling with the concept of 'bullet points' LOL
Bullet points?!
Bullet points?!
Who said anything about bullet points?
I aint struggling - I don't do bullet points or windows.
I'm a detail gal - don't tag me if you only want bullets ok?
Hey Allie - I'm back - been livin' the vida loca here in the US of A. Glad to see all is well. I'll be in touch.
