Life is mysterious, fascinating, intriguing. Here my words nibble around the edges of it as the mood takes me.

Anyone Lost A Volksie?
I'm manning our Neighbourhood Watch "Any Time Call" phone today.
Usually its very quiet but we've had some "fun" today:
Late last night someone spotted a drunk/drugged person abandon their black Volksie in the middle of a main road, go yelling and shouting down the street, eventually disappearing - leaving the car, lightless, slap in the way of oncoming traffic.
The police were called, and a resident used a high powered flashlight to warn traffic until the car could be moved into a safer position.
The call this morning was to say the car was still a traffic hazard.
So the NW was alerted by two-way radio
Our trusty guys came to the rescue, manhandling the car into a parking bay: the police meantime organized it to be towed away.
I wouldn't like to be in the dodgy owner's shoes when he fetches his Volksie!
He is going to have some pretty awkward questions to answer
Hey! I wonder what went through his head this morning. . .
"Um . . .
I had a car last night
Where the $#@* did I put it?!"
And if he remembers and goes there. . .
Look mom, no car!
The other incident?
A flasher reported in the CBD
He made the serious mistake of flashing the mother of one of the main movers and shakers of our NW.
Within nano seconds it was all over the radio network and the guys were chasing him
We (JS and me) were able to pick up a visual of flasherboy because, in his panic, he chose to run along the railway line directly below our house so we could track events by telescope on our deck.
With the incredible two-way coverage in our area (about 80 homes have them just on the mountainside) it is very difficult for crims to get away.
So flasherman was apprehended and is safely (well, until our judicial system gets hold of him) put away.
I sure hope the dodgy okes give me a break during the WP/Bulls game

Maybe someone dropped a 'ruphie' in Volksie mans drink....or maybe I have seen the Hangover one too many times?
BWAHAHAHAHAH Mel!!!
Comical post, but very sad. This individual is on a dead end street to no where. Alcohol has ruined more lives and caused more deaths and yet people still drink into oblivion.
Anon - I think Mel has seen this movie A LOT!
And ja, ruphies (roofies?) sure would account for the mad goings on of the Volksie owner.
And Terry, I take your point.
I think we South Africans use humour a lot to cope with the harder things in life.
We (most of my commenters are Christ followers too) know that ultimately, it is only He that takes us through life but its a national trait to try to "find the funny" in stuff.
interesting side of town - he he he
Life never is boring...I hoped you watched your rugby in peace!
hahahaha so much of excitment on a saturday :)
