Malema
Sometimes the things that Jesus teaches are just so "out there" aren't they?
I mean, following Him is like swimming upstream: doing things His way goes SO against our natural inclination.
Take Julius Malema.
(Not that anyone wants to. Hehe)
No, seriously.
It is evident that he hates white people. He makes no secret of it. His ranting is deeply damaging the years of goodwill and hard work done by so many people of all races in this country.
His inability to think logically means noone can reason with him .
He is like a runaway train and it seems the ANC lacks either the will or the power to stop him.
Or both.
I have been ranting about him with most of the rest of SA.
Enter the disquieting Word to remind me of His take on things:
"You have heard that it was said, 'You shall love your neighbour' and hate your enemy.'
But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven . . "
Seriously, Jesus?
Yes.
Did He not do just that?
"Forgive them Father, for they know not what they do."
He died for Julius Malema also.
Noone said being a Christ-follower was easy.

Julius seems to be going with the "Eye for an eye" portion of the book.
A wise person (also a follower) once said to me, "Don't hate the person, but *hate* what they do." It makes a big difference.
My own opinion is that we should be kind and understanding of the mentally handicapped.

Ja, hmm, wow, sjoe. But YES, I am just thankful the man is not in my immediate space because this would be seriously challenging.
I wonder what he would do if I went and asked if I could pray for him to be released from his anger? ;-)
*Grin* - not sure that Julius is going for anything other than Julius's ambition.

Certainly, forgiveness does not mean condoning awful conduct; its just relinquishing wearing the "Judge hat"
But often relinquishing wearing the Judge Hat is the most difficult of it all.
I believe that he just does not know any better. and that the ANC are actually at his mercy right now.
I prefer my saying.... give a man enough rope, and eventually he'll hang himself with it. Maybe the ANC is hoping for this? Haha
Will have to add Malema as a pet peeve no.11 to my list of things that irritate. x
Now this post gives me some serious food for thought.
