Request

This is my two and a half year old grandaughter with DSS. She has gone down with a mystery bug which has landed her in hospital. First thoughts were glandular fever but apparently that is not it. More tests being run today. Very stressful for all concerned. For those of you who are praying people, won't you please remember this little one and her Mom and Dad when you next talk to our Father?

Adenovirus? My husband recently got hit by something that worked it's way through the family. At first the docs were also flummoxed, and thought glandular fever, but turns out it was adenovirus (apparently notoriously difficult to diagnose) and causes swelling of the adenoids (hubby sounded like Fran Drescher), fever, muscle pain, fatigue, and although it was rather vicious, it passed in a few days. Just had to treat the symptoms and get lots of rest.

At least she is getting great care, and lots of love!

I hope that she will be okay soon, with such a littley, it's always so gut wrenching. Sending good thoughts!

Gosh Ness, that sounds awful!
Glad he is ok now.

The tests they have done on the small one indicate that the problem is bacterial not viral - so they are doing x-rays and more tests.
We shall see - as you say, she is in very good hands and certainly, getting lots of love from lots of people!
