"I Know But. . . "

Is it just me or do we all have the ability to think we know something and yet behave as though something else were true?
Here are some common examples from the Christ-following journey:

# We know we are forgiven but still feel guilty
# We know we are saved by grace but still feel the need to perform
# We know apart from Christ we can do nothing and yet act as if we can do plenty on our own: just needing to call Him in for the hard stuff
# We know He loves us and yet wonder whether we're making the grade
# We know that sin has no dominion over us and yet behave as though it did

Isn't that odd?!
What difference would it make if we lived out what we know
Without hitching up our little "afterthought wagons" behind the truth . . . ?

So very true. We still want to earn it or deserved it...so silly when we can just relax and accept the grace as a free gift. Xx
