Life is mysterious, fascinating, intriguing. Here my words nibble around the edges of it as the mood takes me.

For the Procrasty-Nation
What IS it about procrastination!
And how did it get such a stranglehold on me, an otherwise reasonably logical person?
I mean, it not as though the "thing to do" will go away if I put it off: chances are it will be bigger, harder and take longer.
But in some space in my brain I seem to have other ideas - rather like "if I don't look at it, it won't be there" thinking.
Here's a thought:
When I was a kid I used to postpone my household chores because if I did that long enough, my long-suffering mom would sometimes do them for me.
Of course, other times I had the seat of my pants warmed, as they used to say.
But that obviously did not hinder the deep seated belief forming that a task postponed would be a task escaped.
So, you see, its actually my parents' fault :-)
Of course that could all be psycho-babble - maybe I would just rather blog/read/paint/chat to friends than do the "THING".
Anyone who does NOT have this strange tendency - you are not allowed to comment with any sensible advice or rebuke.
The ONLY acceptable comments will be from fellow sufferers, commiserating or making me laugh.
Oh, and by the way any present day long-suffering moms who are being kind to their kids in the same way - be WARNED.
