Looking for an Ark

If you are wondering why all the summery French holiday pics I have decorated my blog with today, here is the reason: I need to remember that there are sunny days in pretty places . . . The peninsula is awash - there are waterfalls swooshing down every mountain slope. As I write, there is a continuing drone of heavy rain which has lasted for days. The mountains on the other side of the bay have been draped in wet mystery - the sea a sullen battleship grey - Confession time: as soon as we got home from the meeting this morning, we made tea, climbed under the duvet and watched movies and the Wimbledon tennis final ALL afternoon. LOTS of cups of tea and Ouma's home made rusks. Yum. Ja, I know it was lazy but it was SO lekker! Actually, I'm still watching the tennis finals over the top of my computer (I'm not a tennis fan usually but am a Nadal fan) But at least I'm sitting in the lounge now :-) The awful weather is not so bad for me but I see Moms of young kids looking hunted - it is school holidays here, after all. We all know what the combination of school hols and wet weather means. You have my sympathies, girls. But not TOO much. At least you have the TV to plonk your kids in front of. . . . . Am ducking *grin* Ok, I'm burbling - put it down to wet-brain (rain wet, not booze wet). But just before I quit: "Hullo to you, Raine" (that's REALLY her name people). "I'm so glad you visit me."

Winter seems to have arrived with a vengance in the Cape. SO hard to fathom cold wet weather when we are boiling our butts off here in Texas. Keep warm :) How blessed are we to have warm beds in the cold and AIRCON in summer here xx
