I feel gutted. You know those times you just know you have missed a moment And you can't get it back, ever. . . As I came out of a shop this morning, I noticed a woman sitting at a table outside the shop. Saturday morning, zillions of people milling about but she just held my attention We exchanged smiles. As I got into the car DH, who had been waiting while I dashed into the shop, said: "The woman at that table is so stressed out; she has been chewing her nails and she looks in a bad way." I answered: "If I were alone I would go and talk to her" hoping he would tell me to go anyway. He didn't, and we left. I could not get her out of my mind. So I left DH at home and went to back to talk to her She was gone. I drove around the area for quite a while, desperately hoping that I would find her. But I didn't. In the meme, I said that I was scared of missing opportunities. I did that today. And I'm sad

I know just how you feel Allie. Every morning I ask the Lord to make me sensitive to His leading and put people in whose life I can make a difference on my path...I miss the mark so many times.

BTW this quote reminds me of you:

"Risk more than others think is safe. Care more than others think is wise. Dream more than others think is practical. Expect more than others think is possible. "

Ah, Allie, the fact you went back is just amazing. I'm not normally all hippy about these things, but I am sure, in the greater scheme of things, even though you didn't get to speak to her, the smile you exchanged gave her the courage to face what she was struggling with. People tend to under-estimate the power of a smile, especially an anonymous one - a shared moment x
