The tall hotel is our one - DH did a great job booking this one; it could not be more central.
He also made a very smart move in deciding to upgrade us to this balcony-overlooking-the-town-centre room.
These are some views from there.
When we went for a walk this morning, it was below freezing but the most beautiful, still, sunny day. There is something magical about that cold air in your face . .
A lovely promenade runs the length of the town and most of the town seemed to be out enjoying the sun today.
I have never seen so many fur coats! Every dowager turned out to parade in her (no doubt hugely expensive) one.
I am hard pressed to describe the vibe here - it is so great. The food is wonderful (we have fallen in love with spaghetti bolognese!), the wines are good, the crisp cold air makes you feel 20 years younger, and we danced last night! We went for a quiet meal at a restaurant around the corner, and at about 9pm 3 jazz muso's tuned up and lo and behold, people up and started dancing - so we did too.
We felt like teens again.
So lekker.
