What If. . .?

Many people rage against all the difficulties and awfulnesses of life Including me. People wonder where God is in all this. A reasonable question - it has an answer But this is not what this post is about. This is what it is about: Have you ever considered that if there were no poverty There would be no need for sharing and generosity. If there were no pain or loss, There would be no need for compassion or concern. If no one experienced lonliness There would be no need for friendship and relationships: In fact, human relationships would be completely unnecessary. Everyone would be an island of self sufficiency - Is that not a bleak thought? If there were no problems past our capacity to fathom Would anyone seek God? Maybe the suffering we rail against has its very important place in life? Temporary, but important. Maybe?

Interesting. When I had Devin he was an only child for nearly 8 years and I often thought similar things of parents with more than one child. They were so self sufficient, not needing 'a friend' over.

The less we have the more we reach out. Its a fact.

Thought-provoking indeed. We were created for relationship with Christ and with others. Without any need I guess there is no reason for relationship as SELF is satisfied...
