Poignant.

Its a night of calm still heat, even at 10.45. DH and I took glasses of chilled Chardonney to the pool; soaked up the star studded night sky; watched the sheet lightning that, surprisingly, was splashing across the dark mountains; lolled deliciously in the night warmth of the pool and toasted the Lord who gives us such a great life. It one of those times that I know I will always remember: a bubble of beauty and quiet enjoyment of simple things. Sharpened, perhaps, because there has been sadness in the family. And because our loved house now has a "For Sale" notice planted outside the front gate. Our time here may end any time - a month, a year? Who knows? But tonight, we toasted the joy and the beauty we have known in this home that perches on the mountainside, overlooking one of the most beautiful bays imaginable.

Sounds glorious, but I think you are going to miss that beautiful home.

Ah, I can just picture it - sounds like it was blissful and ethereal. Hope you can get in a good few more of those before the sale. :-)

I too was in the pool late last night, and again this morning at 6am. I must admit, I do not cope well with the oppressiveness of the heat, with no wind to break it up, but at least it's not the norm, it's nice to enjoy it once in a while.

I am so glad that we are not dealing iwth heat like that - well we are but there is a breeze so it is doable.

It's moments like these that are so wonderful to revisit time and time again.

We have also been sweltering in the heat lately and spend loads of time in the pool. I would dread even contemplating moving anywhere:)

While you enjoy your summer we are just heading into spring. Granted, the winter in southern Arizona isn't bad, it's still cooler than I like. I have to agree with the others. You do have a beautiful view of the bay from what I can tell by the pictures you post. I'm sure you prayed on this move so it should go well and you'll settle in where ever and start anew. I kinda like new starts once in awhile.

Have a wonderful day Allie :)

Change is always hard.... embrace it, and always keep your memory bank full of fond thoughts of your happy home x

Take lots of photos to remember this time by. I did for my children so that they will always remember Granny's house, with all it's knickknacks and eccentricities.
