Home Grown

I used to lurve gardening at our previous house.
It was one of the things I missed the most when we moved up here into eagle's nest position on the mountain where its rocky and sloping.
It wasn't just the feel of my hands in the soil, or revelling in what it looked like when I was finished -
There is a meditative quality about gardening
It's full of symbolism
And life parallels.

Anyway.
A couple of nights ago
DH and I watched a program on growing your own veggies in what looked like a tiny tent.
Sooo cute!
And do-able.
We looked at each other and instantly decided in a joint kerchang moment.
"Let's Do it!"
So this will be our next project -
At least up here on the mountain there are hardly any snails; they were the bane of the veggie patches in the valley.
I swear the snails thought everyone kindly grew veggies just to feed them!

                                                          Sweet little things aren't they?
The TV program showed some with a sort of shelving too,
so that many more plants can be fitted in. That makes much more sense to me.
I have all sorts of idealistic pictures floating around in my mind
May at least some of them come to fruition!

My mom grows veggies in a "food tent" in a little passage way next to the house - I *never* thought it would work so stuck away - but OMG they're thriving!
