Or learn to fly.
Or maybe I will take cooking lessons and find I really can cook. (Blegh)
Oh wait.
Maybe all this is because I watched "Yesman" again yesterday.
And if not, take note any young moms out there.
Do not let this thing happen to YOU.
You have been warned.
Life is mysterious, fascinating, intriguing. Here my words nibble around the edges of it as the mood takes me.

M.L. Crisis.
I think I might be having a late midlife crisis.
I'm having random thoughts about "stuff" - you know: life and identity and purpose and and and . .
Years ago, a friend called me a 'floppy disc'
Now, that was not as insulting as it sounds. . .
In those days, a floppy disc, in cyber terms, was a back up item: you had one to make sure that if anything went wrong with the original, you would be ok.
I felt it was an accurate description.
My role at the time was wife and mother (and those are floppiest of disc roles, let's just face it!).
And that was it.
Helping those around me live.
That was my normality
I was too immersed in it to see that I should have something that was just mine going on at the same time.
I didn't
Not really.
So now that noone needs help to live (except maybe, me!) I have to start looking for "it" now -
Its going to be fun to see what comes out of all this.
Maybe I will write a book

HHmmm, thanks for the warning.
Perhaps just as well i've gotten my little business of the ground now?
Lots of people still need you...and you know it:)
Get the move Julie and Julia. Apparently inspirational
I get this post.
Hey - I need you.. together we can find out what we want to do for ourselves - so yes, totally get this post. xx Ciao. Me. xxx (PS, i do know it wont be cooking!!!)
Your warning has been heeded:-)
NO COOKING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
There must be something up with our planets Allie :) Ha ha.
Though, that said, my mother decided to go skydiving at 55 a few years back...
My worry (and at the same time joy) is wondering where my sense of self will take me.
Allie, when God created man and woman He also created a role for each of us to do in the marriage. The woman's role was to be the wife, mother and stabling force in the home. She was to raise Godly children, teach them about God and basically keep the home from crumbling in on itself. Sounds like you did all those very well and you should be proud.
The world is the one that tells women they need to be more, and that has caused many problems in the marriage. Take satisfaction in knowing you done what God wanted you to do and not what the world portrays as the woman's role.
Have a great day!
Thanks Terry.
And to my gals - DEFINITELY won't be cooking! That was extra extra tongue in cheek.
Despite my receding hair line I still have a few years before I have to worry about it.
As a young mum, this post struck a cord with me. Right now, stuck in the thick of young children, I sometimes wish they were more independant, older etc... but I know before I can say boo that this time will soon be over, and they won't need me so much anymore! Hopefully, when my own children are older, I will still have needy patients for my "need to be needed" to still be fulfilled! x
